I've been defending people charged with crimes for more than fifty years. In that time the law has changed, the police have changed, and the evidence has gone from notebooks to body cameras. The job hasn't changed. The Crown has to prove it, and someone has to make them.

I'm known as a lawyer who will go to trial. That reputation is worth something before a trial ever starts: a prosecutor who knows you'll fight looks harder at their own file. I've had many charges withdrawn that way, before my client had to risk a courtroom. And when the evidence against someone has been simply untrue, I've taken it to trial and shown the court that.

When the proof is there, I say so. Then the work is keeping you out of jail and limiting what a record does to your life, and I do everything the law allows toward that.
